About the Board
The Board of Zoning Appeals considers applications for variances from the Zoning Ordinance, as well as appeals pertaining to the administration of the Zoning Ordinance. The five members are appointed by the judge of the Circuit Court. The director of the Planning and Development Department, as the city’s zoning administrator, is the secretary to the Board of Zoning Appeals.
Application Submissions
The deadline is approximately one month prior to the regularly scheduled meeting at which the application will be considered. In all cases, applications must be submitted to allow sufficient time to meet required public notice requirements for the meeting at which it is intended to be considered.
