The Diamond Hill Water and Sewer Project includes the installation of approximately 7,746 linear feet of 8 and 6-inch diameter water main, including all necessary services and appurtenances within the right-of-way of the City of Lexington. Total water replacement cost $2.385 million dollars. The Project also includes the installation of approximately 10,419 feet of sewer mains and laterals ranging from 4 to 12 inches, and associated manholes, cleanouts, and appurtenances with a cost of $3.495 million dollars. 38 sewer easements are still needed to be executed at this time. The project area is roughly 53 acres bounded by E Washington St., N. Randolph St., Diamond St., and S. Lewis St.

IMPACT NOTIFICATION: Diamond Hill Phase 1 Utility Replacement - Randolph Street

Contractors of the City will be working to replace utilities from Henry to Washington Street next week, Monday, August 8th through Friday, August 12th.

Monday thru Wednesday - bring utilities through the intersection of Henry and Randolph.

Thursday - Mill utility trench from Henry to Washington (half day).

Thursday and Friday - continue utility replacement to Washington Street,

Contractors will plan to leave half of the block open at all times for parking.

Notice for Diamond Hill Residents from the City Arborist

City Arborist: A Resource During Construction

As many are aware, the City of Lexington is working with contractors to update sections of its sewer and water infrastructure. During phases of this construction there may be times where trees and shrubs have to be removed or are in harm’s way. For everyone dealing with construction on their property, I just wanted to reach out and remind everyone that I am a resource of knowledge and consults are free.

I highly recommend reaching out to me before construction begins on your property so damage can be limited, if possible. During construction there can be situations where trenching, parking of heavy equipment and piling of soil is done within or near the dripline of a tree. These situations can cause damage to the tree. Fencing can (at times) be placed around the dripline of the tree or shrub to keep everyone in their places.
