City Hall Feasibility Study and Space Needs Assessment
General
What is a feasibility study?
The purpose of the work described is to perform a feasibility study with a space needs analysis that evaluates current and future needs of the City’s overall operations, to include the City Manager, Commissioner of Revenue, Finance, Tourism, Human Resources, Planning and Development, Treasurer, and Registrar. The feasibility study is intended to provide the City Council with the resources necessary to make an informed decision regarding the feasibility of renovating the Ruffner building to meet the needs of the present and future. The study will help define the current conditions of the building, future needs of each department, and how the Ruffner building can most adequately meet those needs. The study will also discuss the possibility of relocation to another site – either an existing building to be renovated or new construction. At this time this does not appear possible due to limited land and buildings within the City.
When will this work begin?
This study will begin on 6/22/23 with a final report submitted by October. Project design is set for FY24 and project construction for FY25.
