Lexington’s Fire Chief Ty Dickerson has been accepted by Virginia Department of Emergency Management into the Harvard University John F. Kennedy School of Government Program, “Leadership in Crises: Preparation and Performance”.

The two-day program will be conducted on September 14 and 15, 2017, in Richmond, at no-cost to the participants. For our Fire Chief, this course will build on the expertise needed to ensure a more successful crisis management process in Lexington. An array of emergency-related topics will be covered, such as Routine and Crisis Emergencies, Multi-Organizational Preparedness and Response, as well as Response to Terrorism. A large number of applicants from Virginia communities will provide for a great blend of state and local senior leadership personnel.
