The purpose of the Office on Youth is to provide is to help other youth serving agencies in the City of Lexington provide programs for students in Lexington and its environs. The Office on Youth provides two direct service programs in a drug-free and intimidation-free environment. The department receives funding from the City of Lexington.
The Office on Youth offers an after-school program for children mainly in elementary school and middle school. We offer homework help, arts & crafts, recreational activities, and mentoring.
For the upcoming FY '18 school year, the one time registration fee for City of Lexington students and county students who attend Lexington City Schools is $70. The cost for non-City of Lexington School students is $45 per month/per child, and there will be a discount for full payment. A yearly registration form is requried.
Days & Hours of Operation
The program is held in the Lexington City School Board building next door to Lylburn Downing Middle School. The program is held Monday through Friday from 3 to 5 p.m. unless otherwise noted.
The after-school program is supervised by the youth services director and the youth program assistant.
The after-school program utilizes many volunteers from Washington and Lee University. Other volunteers are welcome.
